Housing support jobs
Housing support jobs provide subsidized housing in combination with support services to any group considered ‘vulnerable’. Assisting the service users to maintain their tenancy agreements for Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Charities. The nature of the role is within specialist functions looking after a specific client group and its needs.
You will need to have experience of working with vulnerable people, dealing with external agencies such as the police, social services, community groups and Local Authority departments. Knowledge and awareness of Supporting People funding, procedures and policies and ability to carry out risk assessments and support plans.
Resourcefulness in housing support jobs
Qualifications are sometimes required such as NVQ in Health and Social care; however time served within the industry and directly with a specific client group is preferred. Employers looking to recruit to Supported Housing jobs place a strong emphasis on the candidate being able to work with their own initiative and must also hold an Enhanced Criminal Records Check.
