Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the site manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day running of the construction project. Site manager jobs ensure that the project is being built as per the design specifications from the architect, M&E consultancy and the engineering consultancy. 

Responsibilities include planning and managing the necessary sub contractors, making sure the materials and plant are on site at the appropriate stage of the project and that all the project team complies with the relevant Health and Safety requirements.

Site manager jobs - ensuring project runs to plan

Ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget will also be part of the brief. Site managers will have either previously worked as qualified tradesmen or have formal qualifications on building, construction management or civil engineering.

You need to be a problem solver who can deliver within set timeframes and support the Project Manager. Good team player and communication skills are sought by employers for their site management jobs.
