The University of Bradford received its Royal Charter in 1966 but its origins date back to the 1860s. Today the University has around 6,300 full-time undergraduates and around 800 full-time postgraduates, from over 110 countries worldwide, one in five undergraduate students are from overseas.

The main University Campus is within walking distance of the City Centre. The School of Management is two miles away towards Shipley. The University has more than 140 degree courses at undergraduate level and around 80 at postgraduate level. These are spread across the 7 Academic Schools which operate from several sites throughout the local area.
Finance and Commercial Services represent one division within the University’s Corporate Services function. Based mainly within the Richmond Building on the main University Campus in Bradford the Directorate employs over 130 people to provide a wide range of financial and commercial services to students, staff, governors, external and statutory bodies and the general community. Financial services involve financial and management accounting, creditor payments, invoicing of debtors, cashiering, payment of salaries and pension administration. Commercial services involve the operation of sports facilities, catering, student accommodation, nursery, print services and booking of events to use University facilities.
