In February 2006, Hays entered the Asian market through the establishment of Hays Hong Kong. Mirroring the specialist focus that has proven to be so successful for us in other regions around the world, Hays Accountancy & Finance, Hays Construction & Property, Hays Engineering, Hays Legal and Hays Information Technology operate from this office.
This was followed by the acquisition of St George’s Harvey Nash Ltd in May 2006, which expanded the Hays network into the People’s Republic of China.
St George’s Harvey Nash’s search and selection business was re-branded as Hays Executive across the region, and now compliments the existing Hays Hong Kong ‘specialist selection’ office. Plans exist to introduce all of Hays’ principal specialisations into China locations complimenting the current executive search capability.
Asia is clearly a significant recruitment market on the world stage, which offers substantial growth opportunities in the specialist recruitment market and is our next target of growth and expansion.
With the addition of our presence in Hong Kong and China, Hays now operates in 27 countries worldwide. We have thriving office networks in: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the UK.
The Asia network will complement the existing offices in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, mainland Europe, Canada and South America, and ensure Hays has the capability to continually source candidates using a combination of local and international strategies.
